Relatively recently in my life, I’ve realized that I can come across to some (many?) people as, uh, aggressively confident?
I’ve heard this from a variety of individuals, ranging from former coworkers to a girl I dated in college and found on Facebook decades later.
I’m not.
It’s less confidence than I’m relentlessly logical. I think, and overthink, many things. As a result, I tend to have an idea of what I would do in a variety of scenarios. [Full transparency: I didn’t say those ideas ended up being the best ideas. One of my former reporter colleagues, Julie, used to tell me I needed to be more spontaneous, and when I tried to put that into action, she asked what I was doing and I said, “practicing being spontaneous,” which amused her to no end.]
